Bug Id: | CSCuv63708 | Title: | CSR does not drop packets not L2-addressed to it |
|
Status: | Open |
|
Severity: | 2 Severe |
Description: | Symptom:CSR1000V when deployed on Nexus1000v, will not drop unknown unicast packets it receives from the N1kv and trigger a routing lookup for the packet and route it. The only thing that changes in the frame/packet is:
- SRC MAC will be the one of the CSR1000v interface - TTL will be reduced by one
This issue is only seen on a L3 CSR1000v interface. L2 interfaces, e.g. for OTV do not cause any problems with unknown unicast. In fact, L2 interfaces used for OTV will have to receive unknown unicast to discover MAC addressed which belong to other DC sites Conditions:CSR with L3 interfaces deployed on a Nexus 1000v with no UUFB enabled. The Nexus 1000v will flood unknown unicast out of the vEthernet port towards the CSR1000v L3 interface
Workaround:To prevent this issue, the Nexus 1000v should not flood frames out of vEthernet ports behind which CSR1000v L3 interfaces are deployed. UUFB needs to be active, either globally or on a per port-profile/vEthernet port basis.

Severity: | 3 Moderate |
Description: | Symptom: CSR 1000v running IOS-XE 3.14.1S will drop receiving any traffic from the Vif when running on XenServer 6.2.
