Who are the real big players in distributing and reselling Cisco?

a.       Companies like Ingram Micro, Dimension Data, Synnex are real big players in Cisco network devices business.

b.       There are 2 main types of Cisco big sellers.

a)         Cisco official distributors: Ingram Micro, Synnex, Tech Data, Comstore are typical official distributors. These huge distributors do NOT care the discount because no matter what discount the reseller or end user would get, they earn fixed 5~8% fulfillment charge for every project. Their defined job is 3 parts: training, transportation / logistics and financing, in order to support the resellers / SI / ISV to deliver the integrated solution to end users.

b)         Tier-1 Master and Gold SI: Dimension Data, IBM, HP, etc are big Cisco Gold partner, or multinational SI. These companies have the best engineering resources and corporate profiles. These companies are usually publicly listed companies, so their financing power is also big in respective countries. The best customers of these companies are usually the government and large enterprises.
