If we buy more, can we get better discount?

Many buyers think that buying
bigger volume Cisco products would naturally lead to a better price. This is not true, and not a right way for cost down.

Usually Cisco low end products
(e.g. ISR G2 routers / 29 or 37 series switches) are under the control of Cisco
fixed discount programs. This means no matter how many units you need, the
price is fixed.

For higher end products, e.g.
Cisco CRS, ASR 1K, 9K routers, ASR 5K EPC, NCS 2/4/6, DWDM/OTN, mobile
applications, etc, usually Cisco could offer relatively better price because
these projects means major battle against other key players in telecom and
enterprise network device market, e.g. Ericsson, Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent.
d.
In short, stressing the meaning
of the project, and correctly choosing the product model is the key to make the
total cost of ownership the lowest possible.
