How can I confidently use 3^rd party, Cisco compatible fiber optic transceivers?

a.       Most popular models of Cisco FO transceivers, e.g. GLC-LH-SMD, SFP-10G-LR, there are properly manufactured 3^rd party modules available in the marked. Strictly speaking, these modules are illegal, because the internal micro codes are copied from Cisco FO transceivers. The hardware quality and actual application could be good.

b.       ICI sells Cisco original and ICI brand, Cisco compatible FO transceivers, and we do not sell fake Cisco FO transceivers. As we inspected, most fake Cisco FO transceivers’ actual hardware quality is very poor, sometimes the elements are refurbished, or collected from wasted transceivers.

c.       For some advanced / high end equipment platform, e.g. ASR 9000, some special commands need to be issued under the interface for accepting the 3^rd party FO transceivers.
