Title:
System image file is absent in show version
Status:
Open
Severity:
4 Minor
Description: *

Symptom:
Cat4500 does not display "System image file" in show version output unless config-register is 0x2102. This is seen with or without bootvar set. Can be seen on both sup7 and sup8 based cat4500.
Bootvar set, config-register = 0x102 or 0x2101, system image name is NOT shown in show ver.

Only when config register is set to 0x2102 and switch reloaded, system image file appears in show ver.
System image file is "bootflash:cat4500es8-universal.SPA.03.03.00.XO.151-1.XO.bin

Other platforms (like 3850) do show system image file name irrespective of what the config-register is.
