End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco IOS 15.1(2)SG and Cisco IOS XE 3.4.0SG for the Cisco Catalyst 4500E, 4500-X, and 4900 Series Switches
Description:

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco IOS 15.1(2)SG and Cisco IOS XE 3.4.0SG for the Cisco Catalyst 4500E, 4500-X, and 4900 Series Switches. The last day to order the affected product(s) is July 5, 2016. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers' service contract. Symptom:
The interface is configured for Dot1x/MAC Address Bypass (MAB) authentication. When the interface goes through re-authentication because of a
session timeout it was possible that the Dot1x/MAB re-authentication could be completed with success but the main authentication status would be
unauthorized.

Conditions:
The C4500 interface is configured for Dot1x/MAC Address Bypass (MAB) authentication.

Workaround:
1. Disable /MAC Address Bypass (MAB) re-authentication.

2. Reboot end device so that initial authentication is done properly.

PSIRT Evaluation:
The Cisco PSIRT has evaluated this issue and does not meet the criteria for PSIRT ownership or involvement. This issue will be addressed via normal
resolution channels.
