Hong Kong, China. ICI today delivered two ASR1001-X routers to a mainstream ISP as BRAS, plus three more on the way to another top ISP as regional service routers.
ASR1001-X has embedded 2x 10GE + 6x GE, 8GB memory, supporting 4M IPv4 routes, 2M Carrier Grade NAT (CGN IPv4 to IPv4), up to 15K concurrent broadband (PPPoE) subscribers, all within only 1RU @ 750 watt AC or DC, totally 20Gbps routing capacity. For expansion, it could add another 8 GE, or 1 10GE, or certain other WAN interfaces.
Upon our analysis, ASR1001-X is the perfect box for most L3 edge applications for service providers because the overall cost is the lowest in the industry. ICI strongly recommends this model for our friends.
